Biting rampage

Mason really loved his baby sister, for about a month. Now however, he has decided she needs to go home. She is really cramping his style! He decided the best way to convince Mom and Dad that she has outstayed her welcome is by biting her!!! I need some help as to how to stop this! I have tried time out, I have tried spanking, I have tried time out and THEN a spanking... I just don't know what to do. Any suggestions are welcome!

Man--that stinks. Ethan was a biter. I tried everything, then I did the unthinkable. I bit him back. The first time it didn't work. And then, the next time I did it until I knew it hurt him. I was trying to explain to him that when he does that to someone else--they feel pain. I think that's why he was biting-he didn't know it really hurt people. Also, thanks for the Valentine's post!

Aw, poor Tori. I haven't had to deal with biting too much, but I'd have to agree with Wendy...

I think we should coat her entire body with vinegar or salt or oil or something yucky. Then next time he goes to bite her, it will be gross and he'll stop.
We'll just need to keep her away from open flames and snails.

Man, I'm such a great dad for how I can solve these problems!

hmmm... just to throw another idea out there- maybe separation might work? for instance: "mason, you'll have to play over there now. there is no hurting people in our family. when you hurt someone, you have to be alone." then make him be separate from everyone else for a certain amount of time.

I don't know if that would work for mason, but for my little arm rubber, it's devastating to have to be ALONE. good luck, and let me know what eventually works, as i'm sure you won't be the only one asking about just this sort of problem.

Jackson was a biter. I would have to agree with Wendy, he didn't stop until I started biting him back. That is so say, poor baby.
