Who needs snow???

I got a large package yesterday and when I opened it I was dismayed to see it was full of packing peanuts. Mason was standing next to me and immediately dug his hands in. I said "NO! You will make a HUGE mess!" As he backed away with a look of sadness, I thought, hey... what the heck? I grabbed the box and dumped it on his head! He played in it for an hour! We had a lot of fun pretending it was snow! It took 45 minutes to clean it all up, but he had a blast!

Date night!!!

Jes and I went on a date Monday night! It was our first in 5 months!!! We drove down to San Antonio to see the Phoenix Suns play the Spurs. Jes has loved the Suns for a long time, even before we moved to Arizona. He was really excited to see the game. We first went to dinner on the river walk, and then headed over to where we assumed the game would be played. We arrived at our destination and we were really confused. "Why are there no cars in the parking lot" we wondered. Jes asked, do you see anyone inside? I said no! We drove around and around for about 5 minutes, and finally asked the security guard "don't the spurs play here tonight??" at which point he looked at us with a look of you poor dumb people... He politely told us the spurs no longer play at the Alamodome, and haven't for 4 years!!! Oops! By the time we got to the game it was half time, which was fine with me! The suns won!!! It was a great game, but that wasn't the end of our adventure! We were driving home on the freeway and suddenly hear a terrible noise! A piece of our car's undercarriage had come off and was dragging on the ground! We had to pull over and buy duct tape at Walgreen's to put our car back together! We finally made it home at midnight (which is very late for us old folks!) and crashed into bed! It was a great night, it was fun to spend some time together alone for once!!!

Rocken around the Christmas Tree

Mason and I decorated the Christmas tree a few weeks ago. I somehow forgot this should be a family thing and did it without Jes. He is still mad!

It's hard to see in the picture but Mas tried to put every ornament on the same branch. I tried to get him to spread them out but he would have none of it!!!

He almost fell in the bucket trying to get everything out of it

What a cutie pie! Yes, his hat says babies first Christmas, but oh well!!!

He found my umbrella hat from when I was a silly teenager and wore it the rest of the day! In fact, he has worn it everyday since then too!!!

Swinging in the COLD!

Mason insisted on swinging outside yesterday even though it was FREEZING!!! So, I bundled him up in his hat and gloves. He hasn't worn gloves since he was a baby, and he had no idea what to do with them! He just held his hands out and looked at me like "what am I suppose to do now?" I had to show him that his hands would still move! It was so funny!!!
He was totally enthralled with the special "thumb pockets"!

Poor Daddy!

It seems that every time Jes tries to plan what he calls a "Family Date" something seems to go wrong! It's not that we don't have fun, it's just that they don't turn out the way he wanted or was planning! Last weekend we decided to drive to San Antonio and take the boat tour to look at the Christmas lights on the river walk. We planned to be there around 5:00, but didn't get there until about 6:30 (mostly my fault... oops!). Traffic was horrible. It took forever just to park the car. This should have given us a clue, but didn't. We went down to the river, and what do we find??? Shoulder to Shoulder people! After about 15 minutes of walking we finally made it to the restaurant. The wait was 1 hour. So, shoulder to shoulder people on a 3 foot wide sidewalk bordering a river... with a 2 year old! Not the best idea! Somehow I was able to keep Mason from falling into the river long enough to get seated at the restaurant. We ate, which was great, but by the time we finished it was 8:30. We walked up to the boat tour to find the line was at least 1 hour long! Mason was bound to be asleep in the next 20 minutes. So, we decided there was no reason to take a sleeping boy on a boat tour! So we walked back to our car and drove home. Like I said, it was fun, it just wasn't what Jes had planned. He gets really bummed out when his plans don't go quite right. He tries so hard, he is such a great Daddy and husband!

Well, I think we can safely announce... we are pregnant! I took 2, yes 2 tests, because I didn't believe the first one! We have had 2 ultrasounds and everything looks great! We are 13 weeks along, due June 5! We are really excited and can't wait to find out what we are having!!!

Thanksgiving

Hard to believe Mason and I were in Utah for more than a week, and this is the ONLY picture I took! What a cute one it is though!!! Mason was having a ball stacking all his trucks on Grandpa and then climbing to the top of the pile and pushing them all on the floor. He did this for and hour every day! In this picture he was just lounging with Grandpa. He loved seeing his family! Everyone was so happy that he knew all there names!

Turkey day was great! We went to Don and Jessica's in the morning, and then ate dinner at Mom's. Amber and Brady brought pie later and we got to see beautiful baby Ellie! I can't believe I didn't even take a picture of her! Mason just loved her, but we had to try and keep him distant because he had a cough and runny nose. We had a great time, but we missed Daddy. He had to stay in Texas and work. Poor Daddy! He was so helpful while we were gone! I got home and the house was spotless! He even moped the floor! I couldn't believe it!!! What a great guy!
