Memory Lane

I am stealing this from Stacy, who stole it from Ali...It sounded fun! Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

A memory? Wow...when you know someone for 10 years, it's hard to pick just one.
Probably my most recent memory was one morning, I was getting ready for work and you just finished feeding the baby and I asked you to make me a lunch since I was late. You went to the kitchen and came out and said we had no bread. You then suggested a TV dinner instead and I said okay. Man, that was funny! I laughed over that one all the way to work.
But then I got to work and discovered I had a TV dinner for lunch.
Serious memory? Well, cars come to mind. You have (1) wrecked BOTH our cars in one accident, (2) left the car running while you were at work for up to 4 hours, (3)had me drive 1 hour to get you, only to find out you left the car in gear (hence why it wouldn't start), and (4) high-centered the car at Discount Tires.
It's okay, I still really love you.

i just read jess' memory, and had to say: ashlee, that sounds exactly like something Matt could say about me, but add something about having to be rescued multiple times for losing my car keys.

a memory: me, ashlee, mason, rhett, samantha, jesse, anaya, and levi all having a "play date." genius, right? well, ashlee was great about it. she still says, "oh,it was fine." i'll always know where to find a little optimism... and hospitality.

Me and you sitting on your back porch, late one night talking about life! So nice to have such a great friend I can share things with! You're the best!

There is one memory that makes me laugh everytime I think about it. Ashlee and I were probably about ten and eleven years old. It was a hot summer day and Ashlee really wanted to go swimming and had a bright idea on how we could make our own swimming pool. She suggested that we fill the window well up with water and play around in that. I tried to tell her that it wouldn't work and that it would leak. She, being the older and wiser of the two, insisted that it would work and that it wouldn't leak. So she went forth and started to fill the well up. I went down to the Red White and Blue room to watch through the window and sure enough it started to leak through the window. It was leaking so bad that water was running down the wall and soon the carpet began to float. We hurried and turned off the water. I am not sure how we got the water out. We took a bunch of bath towels and sopped up the mess. Knowing that we were going to be in a lot of trouble we put the towels in a big garbage bag. Then Ashlee hid the bag in hopes that mom wouldn't find it. Well we all know it's hard to hide things like this from our parents. Sure enough Mom found the bag of mildew towels and was not a very happy person. Well we laugh about it now, and now we know that you can not build a pool out of the window well.
